Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy Massage at Armory Massage Therapy adds the use of essential oils to a customized Swedish massage session. It is not a separate technique as much as a way to support the work you are already receiving. It helps the session feel more calming, grounding, uplifting, or restorative depending on what you need that day.
Essential oils are chosen with care and used respectfully. Some clients want aromatherapy for stress relief or deeper relaxation. Others enjoy it during seasonal changes, when they want a fresher sensory experience, or when they simply want the session to feel more intentional. Essential oils used in a Sports Massage or Deep Tissue Massage session can assist the goal of relieving pain, stiffness, and soreness in muscles. Combined with gliding, warmed stones in our Hot Stone Massage awakens and creates a journey for the senses.
A Personalized Aromatherapy Massage Experience
Your aromatherapy massage is tailored to your body, your preferences, and your goals for the session. Aromatherapy may be added to Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, hot stone massage, or other therapeutic bodywork.
The oils are not meant to overpower the room or distract from the massage. They are used to support the session while your therapist stays focused on your body, your comfort level, and the reason you came in.
How Aromatherapy Supports the Session
Aromatherapy works through both scent and touch. As you breathe in the aroma, the scent can support a sense of settling, softening, grounding, or feeling more awake. When properly diluted and applied to the skin, the oils become part of the massage itself.
Depending on the blend used, the session may feel calming, clarifying, grounding, or gently energizing.
Aromatherapy for Stress, Tension, and Restoration
Clients often request aromatherapy when they are feeling depleted, tense, emotionally worn down, or in need of a deeper reset. It can be especially supportive when stress is showing up in the shoulders, chest, jaw, belly, or breath.
The goal is simple: to help the body receive the massage more fully and to help you leave feeling more settled, restored, and connected to yourself.
