Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a gentle, energy-based wellness practice that supports relaxation, rest, and a sense of calm. It is often chosen by clients who want time to pause, reset, and reconnect with themselves in a peaceful setting.

Reiki can be booked on its own or included in an integrative massage when it feels like the right fit. Some clients prefer a full Reiki session without massage. Others enjoy a few quiet moments of Reiki before or after bodywork.

Reiki is not massage. It does not use pressure, kneading, or muscle work. The session may be hands-on or hands-off, depending on your comfort level.

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy-based practice that uses light touch or hands held slightly above the body. The word Reiki is often translated as “universal life energy.”

During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed and rest comfortably on the massage table. The practitioner may place their hands on or near areas such as the head, shoulders, heart area, abdomen, legs, or feet.

People experience Reiki in different ways. Some feel warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness, emotion, or deep rest. Others simply feel more settled. There is no right or wrong way to experience the work.

How Reiki May Be Included in a Massage Session

Reiki can be offered as a standalone service, but it may also be woven into a regular massage when a client wants a more energetic or meditative element included.

For example, Reiki may be used at the beginning of a massage to help the person on the table settle, at the end of a session to create a gentle finish, or during moments when stillness feels more supportive than more pressure.

The session does not have to fit into only one category. Reiki is one of the tools that may be included when it feels appropriate and welcome.

Potential Benefits of Reiki

Clients often seek Reiki for support with:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Stress and tension
  • Feeling overwhelmed or depleted
  • Rest and stillness
  • Emotional grounding
  • A quieter, more meditative experience
  • A sense of connection or spiritual support
  • Time to pause and reset

Reiki is a complementary wellness service. It is not a replacement for medical care, mental health care, physical therapy, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed healthcare provider.

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

Your session begins with a brief conversation about what brings you in and whether you prefer hands-on or hands-off Reiki. You will remain fully clothed and rest comfortably on the massage table.

The room is quiet and comfortable. The practitioner may place their hands lightly on the body or hold them just above the body. You do not need to do anything during the session. You can rest, breathe, notice what you feel, or simply be.

You are always welcome to ask for adjustments to touch, positioning, temperature, music, or anything else that would help you feel comfortable.
