“Massage therapy is very relaxing and has meditative qualities that can further connect mind and body. It can also be used as a tool to help prevent, assess, and treat a wide range of concerns.”
Licensed Massage Therapist; 2006
Larissa approaches massage therapy from a wellness perspective to allow the client to relax as well as to address specific concerns the client wants to work on. Through effective communication, she intends to help the client get in tune with their body and better understand the origin of the concern he or she is addressing. She then works to develop a plan for treatment and identify possible changes that will improve the client’s overall well-being.
Larissa obtained her massage certification from Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage, in Syracuse NY, earning her license in summer 2006. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego in 2009; majoring in wellness management with a minor in health science. She began to gain her massage therapy experience from a spa setting, strengthening her interpersonal skills and relaxation techniques. Since then, Larissa has balanced her previous formal education and experience to make her sessions productive and well rounded. Continuing to grow and work with a wide variety of clients has enhanced Larissa’s bodywork techniques and has helped her become a very versatile therapist.
Larissa offers massage therapy sessions that are confident and direct. She enjoys performing deep tissue massage, addressing specific injury and medical concern with a detailed oriented approach, athletic enhancement, and relaxation and anti anxiety sessions.
